  30. This update provides several enhancements and/or corrections over
  31. previous releases:
  32.  
  33. 1) "AnimGIF - Load Anim-Brush" used to require a double-buffering screen
  34.    mode to create the animation. This is the standard for proper Amiga
  35.    animation, but Personal Paint has always been strong in supporting RTG
  36.    animation without double-buffering. This has been extended to this
  37.    script.
  38.  
  39. 2) "AnimGIF - Save Anim-Brush" allows for the anim-brush transparency
  40.    to be set or cleared directly from the user interface of the Rexx
  41.    script. Additionally, the timing of the anim-brush frames can be
  42.    copied from the timing of the frames in the current animation.
  43.  
  44. 3) On some web browsers, GIF animations using transparency effects would
  45.    be displayed differently (e.g. leaving "trails") than with Personal
  46.    Paint. This was caused by the lack of a clear specification on the
  47.    various frame disposal methods which can be employed for GIF
  48.    animations if transparency is used. The update contained in this
  49.    archive was designed to offer a better compromise between optimization
  50.    and compatibility with different de facto standards. Version 5.4
  51.    solves a potential problem with multiple-palette animations when viewed
  52.    with older versions of certain PC browsers.
  53.  
  54. This archive does not contain, create or modify any GIF code. Only some
  55. animation features are updated. The installation procedure requires the
  56. personal_gif_io.library (version 5.1, 5.2 or 5.3) to be already installed
  57. in the system. These libraries (or newer ones) are included with the
  58. commercial distribution of Personal Paint 7.
